FEATURES OF THE HIVE
Located on the upper side of the Panoramica with a 340-degree view of Guanajuato, Valenciana, and the surrounding countryside. It is located in the Colonia or neighborhood of Mellado.
This sale includes:
A 3 story fully furnished home or three separate apartments all artist designed and built. Each full floor is a separate apartment but could be converted into a home, easily.
A brand new traditional hand-built pink Cantera stone wall surrounds the property with cast concrete honey bees (made by the owners) that are inserted throughout the stone wall, as details.
The structure is primarily built with COVINTEC, a LEED platinum foam panel product, that is insulating for both cold and hot days and is more soundproof than brick or block.
The Golden Bee has 2 hot water heaters and one solar panel hot water tank (150LT /40 gal). There is one large propane tank (500 LT) on the roof plus a propane fill on the first floor outside of the house. There is a Digital reader for the propane tank in the second-floor kitchen, no need to climb on the roof to check the gauge. There are two large tinaco’s (water tanks) 1100 LT / 290 gal. each. The Golden Bee runs off of city water and is connected to the city sewer system.
All the plumbing pipes, fasteners, and faucets were purchased in the US and were delivered to us in Mexico. All the plumbing has been installed with vents and toilet paper can be flushed unlike in most of the plumbing in Mexico. Our plumber and electrician were both trained in the US and Canada. All kitchen sinks have filtered drinking water taps and the water for the whole house is filtered for sediment.
All floors have great Wi-Fi and the house has an inline power surge protector that is connected at the main which should keep all computers safe if there is a huge power surge. We have never experienced one, but it feels good to know that it’s installed.
This sale includes some of the ceramics and art pieces collected on our travels. Large paintings on the walls are negotiable.

MEET THE CREATORS OF THE GOLDEN BEE
Sara•Tink and Theo are Artists and Builders from the Columbia Gorge in Washington State. They started building when they were 23 years old. During the building of the Golden Bee in Guanajuato, they were always present to help build, design or make something special like the lighting in the Queendom Kitchen, or the mold for the concrete tile floors. They loved this land when they first saw it! The magnificent, magical cactus covered in bees, grabbed them by the hands and The Golden Bee was designed around it's presence. It's pretty hard to find such a large cactus in the city. There was nothing on the land but some garbage and so they began cleaning the land and building the stone walls. After the house was constructed, they hired a licensed engineer to evaluate the construction, everything was perfect (report to be included).
With the help of many wise and creative hands, the Golden Bee emerged. Guests from all over the world have enjoyed her wings over their heads. From China, Australia, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the US, people have traveled to Guanajuato to stay at the Golden Bee, for its “a suite place to land.” Theo and Sara will be staying in Guanajuato but living closer to Sara’s mother to help her create wonderful retreat gatherings while building an art studio for themselves.
